I have brown almost shoulder length, quite layered (the shortest layers on the top of my head reach the top of my ears) hair with a long fringe. 'd prefer to stay with medium length rather than going long or short. How should I get it to cut bearing in mind my hair is very very thick?

I have thick hair also. It is down to my shoulders and I also have layers. My shortest on is too my chin. I would suggest asking your hair stylist to thin it out a little, like they will take a razor and think some strands out, especially off of the bottom to get rid of some of the weight.
