I told her I was a new mom and needed something that wouldn't take forever to style. I told her I'm athletic and I wear my hair up a lot, but I like to wear it down when I'm not working out. Then I told her that while I would like my son to eventually play soccer I'm NO SOCCER MOM!!! Meaning no cutesy simple bobs with no sultryness. I have tattoos! I said. Viola, medium length shag with long layers, flat ironed for maximum sex appeal. Wear your favorite outfit and discuss your lifestyle and fashion goals with your stylist. OH!! Research a high end salon that hires artists. A run of the mill barber isn't about tailoring your image. I pay 70 - 80 dollars for my haircuts. It's worth it.

I think it would look good with long layers on the top and tapered at the neck. Just ask for that, they will know what you mean. I was a cosmotolgist before I became a paramedic...seriously. That way you could still keep some length for the shaggy style thats in for guys, but it would be off your neck so you would look like you had a specific style.

Don't ask for a specific style....go to a good salon with a reputation for good hair dressing, and ask the stylist for a consultation before you decide what you want to do. You can

take along picutres that you've cut out of magazines to

show the stylist what appeals to you, and what doesn't.

If you don't like what the stylist tells you, or you feel

uncomfortable in any way, get up and leave. Don't allow

anyone that you aren't comfortable with to cut your hair.

A good stylist will take into account your face shape, hair type,

life style, personality...there are many factors.
